OUR STORY
It Began With a Question
For years, haircare has focused on the hair
We wondered what came before it
The Question
For years, haircare has largely been defined by what we see. Formulations were created to cleanse, nourish and repair the hair itself, each responding to what appeared on the surface. Yet, in looking at the rituals that shaped modern haircare, we found ourselves returning to a quieter question. What prepares the scalp for the care that follows?
Rather than searching for another treatment, we chose to look earlier. Before creating a single formulation, we wanted to understand where thoughtful haircare truly begins. That question became the starting point for every decision that followed, and eventually, the beginning of
A Shift in Perspective
The more we returned to that question, the more our perspective began to change. Rather than looking first to the hair, we found ourselves looking towards the place from which it grows. The scalp was no longer simply the beginning of the hair—it became the beginning of the care itself.
That single shift has continued to shape every formulation we create. Before choosing an ingredient, before refining a texture, before developing a ritual, we return to the same belief: that before caring for the hair, it is worth caring for the environment in which it grows.
What Followed
Only once that perspective had taken shape did we begin creating formulations. They were never conceived as isolated products, but as practical expressions of a single way of thinking. Each one was created to support the same intention: caring for the scalp before the care that follows.
The ritual was not designed to replace the haircare people already know. It was created to offer a different place to begin. A quiet first step that prepares the environment in which hair grows, allowing every gesture that follows to become part of a more considered approach to care.
"Allegria began with a question. Everything we have created since has been our way of answering it."
